There’s something sacred about the light at the edges of the day. Whether it’s the soft hush of dawn or the fiery drama of dusk, these moments are fleeting—and unforgettable.
In this pastel session, we’ll explore how to capture that glow. You’ll learn how to layer color, build atmosphere, and create luminous skies that feel alive. We'll work from reference images, including a few of my own, and you’ll be invited to find your own "chasing light" moment to bring to life. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset… that’s up to you. Chasing Light: Sunrises & Sunsets in Pastel
The light doesn't wait - let's chase it with color 6-week Zoom class: July 8, 15, 22, 29 & August 5 & 12, 2025 Tuesday mornings from 11:00AM – 1:00PM CST. $150 for the six-week class (or 2 payments of $75) There’s something universal about a sunrise or sunset—it always stops us in our tracks. In this pastel session, we’ll chase that fleeting light and learn to capture its magic. Whether your skies are soft and subtle or bold and blazing, you’ll come away with art that glows from within. Suggested supplies to have on hand (although to be clear, you can attend this class using the 2-D medium of your choice):
Unwind, live in the moment, and have fun by painting with pastels. Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea and make art following along with the lesson/photo of the day, work from your own photo, or simply watch and paint later! The camaraderie of this online class offers a unique opportunity to bring your art to a higher level by brainstorming with each other. |
