Paint Baby Animals (!) with Soft PastelsStep into our Zoom room and create some OMG, ADORABLE baby animals using soft pastels. Take inspiration from the photos I provide - or paint your own baby!
When painting animals, proportions matter. I'll give you some drawing tips to get you started. Once we finish our light sketch, we'll identify the dark values (using multiple colors) making strokes of pastel in the direction the fur is growing. Then we'll identify the light values (using multiple colors), until we finally add the local colors and refine. Check out the smiling Zoom faces below and join us for a fun, engaging Tuesday morning making pastel paintings. The camaraderie of this online class offers a unique opportunity to bring your art to a higher level by brainstorming with each other. And don't forget to notice the African grey parrot who comes to class regularly! That's Little Bit. He comments, even when it's not critique time.
“At the deepest level, the creative process and the healing process arise from a single source. When you are an artist, you are a healer; a wordless trust of the same mystery is the foundation of your work and its integrity.” ~ Rachel Naomi Remen, MD |
