​Fall for Pastels
Plein Air Workshop using top quality pastels & surfaces

Where: Liberty Farm, Woodstock, IL
When: Saturday, Oct 15 (rain date, Sun., Oct 23) 10am - 3pm

​Cost: $195 for the  5 hour workshop - This is includes:
  • 19-1/2" x 27-1/2" Pastel Mat mounted board. Retail: $29.95 (if you would like an extra board, let me know, and the cost will be an extra $30)
  • Blending stubs and soft cloths
  • (4) 6" x 8" pieces of Pastel Mat in a variety of colors for warming up, testing pastels, or taking home!
  • 9" x 12" grey sanded pastel surface
  • A huge array of Unison and Richeson pastels to share
  • A light lunch
  • A bottle of Pellegrino water
  • Coffee/Tea
I will also provide chairs and tabletop easels. I will have one, possibly two tall easels available if you request one. You can bring your own supplies if you wish, but you won't need to bring anything!
​​Join us at the beautiful Liberty Farm in Woodstock, Illinois for a day of color, inspiration, & fun!
 
ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED - 10 artists maximum 

​When you arrive we will gather for coffee/tea/water and discuss where everyone will set up to paint. There are a wide variety of beautiful spaces to paint, including a pine tree area and a pond. The fall colors should be out in full force!

Next I will discuss the 5 types of light and how it relates to painting en plein air. I'll do a short demo and give you your supplies and everyone will go to their choice of spots! While you paint, I'll be available by walking from artist to artist to help in any way - a brief critique, answer questions, bring you specific colors of pastels if you need them, etc. 

We'll take a break mid-point, around 12:15 for a light lunch and to discuss your paintings.

In the afternoon you can choose another spot, as when painting outdoors, the light changes so quick, you will probably want to paint from a different viewpoint. We will end our painting session around 2:30pm so there is time to have another discussion and pack up to go.
